Less famous than its counterparts such as Dragon Well and Maojian, Maofeng makes jade green brews that are overwhelmingly refreshing with strong note of orchid flower.
And Maofeng is the most natural and organic tea you can ever find.
The Chinese say ‘Where there is a big mountain there is a famous tea’. That's absolutely true with Maofeng tea and its home, the famous Yellow Mountain in Anhui Province in eastern China.
Grown on the steep slopes of this 1860-meter-high mountain, the prized Maofeng tea inherits all its essence.

Up the mountain, it’s almost always foggy and humid, with cool air sending slight chill from time to time. This gives the tea its sharp and refreshing taste. Flowers grow with tea trees, and the tea seems to also have the subtle fruity aromas.
And the tea is so much like us! Maybe it is because of the high altitude, the tea leaves wear silvery downy hair as ‘coat’. Brew it, and you will see the tea leaves in pleasant needle shapes. Some say it resembles the soaring cliffs of the Yellow Mountain.
No wonder emperor Qianlong asked for an annual tribute of this delicious Chinese tea to his imperial palace.
